The activity of mark making on a surface has been the crux of my aesthetic pursuits. Ideas and themes for the work are spawned from an array of sources. The splattered mud patterns on my car, the thought of shadows being left behind after the object that created them was removed, trapped air pockets under a scrim of paper floating on water, and song phrasing, have been subjects for consideration.
